Artist Profiles
Daniel Les
Daniel’s work is attacked with emotion and colour and is a
direct translation of what his surroundings speak to him. He uses strong, fast
mark-making to express an idea or reaction. His work, although abstract, has an
unmistakable landscape influence. Although his paintings appear to be a
carefree exercise in creation, each facet is carefully developed and thought
out to harmonise with its neighbouring brushstroke. He specialises in large
abstract but also concentrates on smaller works depicting the essence of place.
Melanie Les
Melanie’s work is renowned for the quirky, lively and
spontaneous interpretation of the world around her. The small and often
unnoticed is captured and brought into focus. Her fascination with nature is
playfully expressed on canvas, conveying a curious nuance of self-exploration.
Melanie’s extensive travels throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East has
inspired much of her work. Simplistic
imagery with free, lively mark-making is an exercise in developing life’s
spontaneity and happiness. Melanie presently works as a graphic designer,
illustrator and paints passionately in her spare moments.
